Welcome to the last pink Saturday of January.. This month did fly by quickly.
In an earlier blog I featured some old vintage post cards from the early 1900's that belonged to my late husband's father. Today I am showing some ....maybe friends or family of years gone by. There is no info on the back of them so I have no idea how they are related to us or not.. There is some real unique pictures.
This little girl is so sweet ...notice what she is sitting on.
Looks like an old wicker piece.
This is a great formal picture of this lady.. ..such a grand hat and dress..
I wonder is she can from wealth?
All the family who might have know these people are gone... sigh.!
It would have been nice to know something about them. I added the pink to them
so they would fit in on the pink Saturday post.
I am joing Beverly from How Sweet the Sound for today's pink party.
Have a wonderful weekend
That little smiley girl is a cutie!! Thanks for sharing. Happy Pink Saturday!! ~Lorraine ♥♥♥
ReplyDeleteDear One, this is my first visit here, and I wanted to tell you, what lovely old photos you have!!!
DeleteBut.... I can not Comment here. All I can do is reply to another comment here, which I don't want to have to do. -sigh-
Because Blogger has installed the new Blogger "reply to all comments" thing in your blog. Probably without you even wanting it. -sigh- They did so, in my blog, too.
I had to figure out how to prevent Blogger from doing this, and thus allow some of my Dear Readers, to again comment in MY blog.
I made sure I had Pop Up Comment Box Setting ON. And that way, all was well again.
Just saying................ If someone like I, who can not leave a regular comment here, does not tell you.... You don't know there is a problem.
Gentle hugs...

Dear One, thank you for not being irritated with me, for saying I can not comment in the regular way. And thank you for saying that you switched back today, so I can comment in the regular way.
DeleteBut... As you can see... I still can not.
Gentle hugs...

The lady with the pink heart is so lovely, Elaine. My sister introduced me to vintage holiday cards years ago, and ever since then, I love them. Have a nice weekend.

I love seeing old photos like these. I always wonder about the lives of the people in the photos.
ReplyDeleteHello Elaine...I'm so glad you visited CITexas Gals Pink Saturday post on my Aunt Rose Adaline. Her picture overlayed on the Pink Rose came from my Vintage Photo Collection. I see that you, too are a Vintage Photo Collector. I've enjoyed browsing your collection on the posts below this one. You have some wonderful and unique photos...like the baseball player and the 'happy guy'. Photos from that era were usually so stoic and serious. I have my Great Grandmothers photo album from the late 1800's to the early 1900's posted on my Genealogy Blog...Tracks of My Texas Ancestors. I think you would enjoy seeing them. The LINK is on my sidebar...TRACKS OF MY TEXAS ANCESTORS QUICK LINKS...The Photo Album.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed my visit and I'm happy to meet you..have you found in Flower Gals in your Family Tree? I'm a new follower. Hope to see you soon on CollectInTexas Gal....Sue
Oh-What a gorgeous quote...it is beautiful! xo Diana
ReplyDeleteBlessings, Elaine! Visiting from Beverly's - your vintage photos drew me in. Such a sweet little girl!!! And, and elegant lady - how I would love that hat! Our family has many of these old photos, too, and yes - it is troubling that we can't identify the people. Will that be the way it is with pictures of us someday??
ReplyDeleteJoy from Kathy at The Writer's Reverie!
I love those photos, I can't help but gaze at them and wonder what their life was like at that time, SO different from life today! We have a couple like those on our wall of my great grandmother and great grandfather. I just love them :)
