Christmas shopping yesterday with my daughter Gwen and today a wee bit more and now it's time to take a break before I tackle the job of wrapping gifts .. and maybe I'll cheat a bit and put a few in some of those pretty gifts bags.
I found this poem that so reminds me of what we all are guilty of
SHOPPING by Jacinth Klee
Each year the planning starts
As early as the month of June
I would look around for ideas
Shelving them inside my mind
And seek for better bargains
Though the day gets nearer
I still have time, I believe
Surely there will be promotions
Holiday sales and discounts
I shall wait for the best offers
Oh dear - how time flies
Only a week left and I'm still stuck
With no gifts and no ideas
Prices have gone way up
Some items no longer on sale
It is the same annual story
A lesson I vow to learn
For Christmas every single year!
I hope my gifts look this nice when I am finished..
Happy Red Wednesday
How fun to receive a giveaway package with such sweet little items. Everything is the same around here. Sam came home with an Xbox for the kids the other day which was gonna be my big gift for them. Now they are just getting pajamas and I don't know what else. So hard to buy anything these days. Lord knows they don't need a thing. Happy gift wrapping. Warm hugs, Love Tammy
ReplyDeleteI sounds like fun shopping with your daughter.
ReplyDeleteI love the poem.
Have a Merry Christmas and good luck with the wrapping.
Hugs
I am one of those that buy all year long. When I see something that reminds me of what another person would enjoy, I buy it. I cannot wait until the last minute to Christmas shop.
ReplyDeleteI usually buy all year long, but this year seems a bit off kilter. I still have to finish!
ReplyDeleteI KNOW YOU AND GWEN HAD A GREAT TIME SHOPPING TOGETHER. DID YOU GO TO ANY THRIFT STORES IN YOUR ADVENTURE? DON'T STRAIN YOUR BACK GIFT WRAPPING. THEY TELL US TO CLEAR OFF A PORTION OF YOUR CABINET AS IT IS TALLER THEN THE TABLE AND LESS STRESS ON YOUR BACK. I TRIED IT AND MY BACK DIDN'T HURT WHEN I FINISHED. SO THAT WAS GOOD ADVICE I AM GLAD I TOOK. I LOVE THE POEM. YOU ALWAYS SEEM TO FIND JUST THE RIGHT THINGS AT THE RIGHT TIME HERE ON THE OLE INTERNET.
ReplyDeleteHAVE A BLESSED AND MERRY CHRISTMAS ELAINE.
LOVE KAY
You share the best potry! I really like this and I need to jazz up my blog for the coming year. I like poetry and enjoyed writing when I was younger. Maybe it is a sign I should take it up again! Love to you this blessed holiday season. Anne
