Christmas has me in a pink tizzy

With only two weeks left till Christmas I find myself often wishing there were two of me. It's time for more baking, and wrapping and trying to decide what to buy for those great-grandchildren. I'm in a tizzy !! It's hurry ..hurry. But before I do a bit more shopping maybe I can find a big pink ice cream cone. I think that would easy my stress.

There is one more thing I need to do first and that is thank my daughter Gwen for these lovely yellow roses she gave me today. ( my late husband always gave me yellow roses)

There is a little story along with them... Gwen called this morning to say that she was coming by later in the day and I was a bit teary when I answered the phone ...she said "what's wrong Mom" and I say "oh nothing" . Next thing I know my daughter Joy calls and said "What's wrong mom..Gwen called and said you were crying. " I say nothing really" ( I tell you a Mom can't even get a tear in before the daughter squad is upon you. ) It was just one of those days when past Christmas memories with husband and family was floating through my mind and they caught me at the wrong time..I'm sure you Mom's know how it is.

So.... they both came, brought sweet rolls and we had coffee. I managed to convince them I was fine and suggested we all go see my friend Nancy who had breast cancer and cheer her up.

With that story told I want to see what the others have for pink Saturday..might get a fresh perspective from the other pinkies and from our hostess Ms Beverly.. Check it out here.

  6. Sending lots of hugs and kisses your way. When you are down, the best thing to do is cheer a friend. I am still trying to get over this goofy cold. Need to bake today for a women's shelter and for gift giving. I cannot believe it is December 11th. Yikes! Stay safe and warm. Love ya, Tammy

  13. Such sweet daughters. My sister is struggling through the holidays, too, with memories of past Christmases with her late husband. I will add your name to our prayer list and pray for you throughout the holidays, trusting God will comfort your heart as you celebrate our Christ's birth.

  16. I AM GETTING MISTY EYED JUST THINKING OF BOB. EVERYTIME I LOOK AT THE TREE I HAVE UP I THINK OF YOU GUYS. AND I LOOK AT IT ALOT. IT IS THE ONE YOU GUYS LEFT DOWN HERE. IT IS A TRADITION NOW FOR IT TO BE PUT UP EVERY YEAR. WE LOVE IT. I AM ALSO THINKING OF WALT ALOT LATELY. MUST BE THE HOLIDAYS. I ALSO FOUND A SHIRT I THINK WALT WOULD HAVE REALLY LIKED. I HAD TO STOP THINKING ABOUT HIM AT WORK WHEN I SEEN THIS SHIRT. I STARTED TO CRY REMEMBERING HE IS NO LONGER HERE FOR ME TO GET IT FOR HIM.
