Oatmeal Apple Crisp

Today I visited my friend who has breast cancer and took her some apple crisp I made.

Oatmeal Apple Crisp...................Time 40 minutes.................serves 6

1 c. brown sugar......1 c old fashioned rolled oats...........1 c all-purpose flour ......1/2 c butter, melted. 4 cups of apples peeled and chopped.......1/2 cup white sugar.....
2 teaspoons cinnamon...vanilla ice cream ..optional

How to make: Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly grease an 8-inch square pan. In a large bowl, combine brown sugar, oats, flour and butter. Mix until crumbly. Place half of crumb mixture in pan with half of the apples. Mix white sugar and cinnamon together, then sprinkle half over the apples and crumb mixture...now add remaining apples, white sugar and cinnamon and place remaining crumb mixture over top. Bake in the preheated oven for 40 minutes, or until golden brown.

This was really yummy with ice cream. There was not a crumb left after her son and children came in.

  1. Hello Elaine Sweetie...
What a beautiful share today. You were able to touch someone's life and heart today through a warm apple crisp. I know you just made her day too, and it sounds like the son's as well. Sometimes it is just a little thing we can do to brighten one's day.

I will be saying an extra prayer or two for your friend sweetie. Many hugs and so much love, Sherry
