Blue in a bottle

Another week and another Monday. Did you know that Blue Monday is a name given to a date stated, as part of a publicity campaign by Sky Travel, to be the most depressing day of the year.

For many of us it means and end to a weekend and back to work. I think we all have blue days and they can be any day of the week and brought on by many things. Loss of a loved one, loss of a job, financial problems, family problems, illness of a love one or your own health and so many other things.

Today I tried to capture my feeling of blue in a bottle. There are many things that make me blue...the loss of my dear husband and other family members. The fact I do not see my family as much since they live afar...my kids and grandchildren have lives of their own now.

There is no way to keep time from moving on. There is always today and then a tomorrow.

If only we could of preserve time in a bottle life would be so much easier now!!

MAY YOU ALL FIND YOUR BLUE BIRD OF HAPPINESS TODAY

  3. Oh How I would love to put time in a bottle. I try to see my Dad at least three times a year. However he lives so far and my brothers, well they also live away. Family is so important and as I get older I miss seeing them.
My Blue Monday link for you

  4. You're right about the beginning of BLUE MONDAY. Then, Fats Domino made a song about it. Now, it can mean anything BLUE.

You have many reasons to be blue, but my wish for you, Elaine, is that you're able to turn to God for some brightness.

    Happy Blue Monday.

  5. Elaine, I'm so sorry you are feeling blue, and there are many times I have wished to capture time in a bottle, too. I hope and pray that time will ease your pain. It is never easy to lose people we love, and I have found that the only one who can fill the holes in my heart (or the bottle of my life) is the Lord. I have learned to lean hard on Him at all times.

Hopefully, the blues in your life will now be limited to the beauiful blue of the sky or sea or even the blue flowers we all love so.

    XO,

    Sheila :-)

  6. It is hard when we feel blue that is for sure. My mother is waiting to go into nursing home now and I know she feels blue from time to time though she is trying to be strong and has her faith so I agree with Smiling Sally that God can help. You are on to something there with capturing time in a bottle. I guess others feel this way that is one reason why there is that song called "Time in a Bottle" which I don't hear on the radio or tv anymore as it is rather an oldie. Hugs.

  8. One thing for sure, you may not be able to put things in a bottle, but your memories will always be there for you. Cherish them.

  9. Your post is very inspirational and though provoking....I hope you aren't feeling blue for blue is such a lovely, soft and welcoming colour. I love the colour of a blue sky even with billowing clouds that may want to come to spoil the day..
I know what you mean about wanting to preserve memories...bottling them and holding them forever. Often times its the blue times that make us remember what we might otherwise have forgotten.
    *hugs*..

I wish we could time in a bottle as it seems to be going by so fast.
I guess that is why we have our memories to hang on to.
