A chilly Thursday

This morning as I stood by the bedroom window and looked out, it was not with the anticipation of sun..More lake effect snow predicted. A temp of twelve degrees and lower with windshield. factored in.

So I grabbed my camera and took a few pictures of spring time in the bedroom. These little birds are great reminders that spring is out there..but just not yet.
This picture I picked up at Goodwill this week for $3.00. It certainly makes me wish it were warmer so I could get out and wander around the yard and look for signs of spring.

The following picture is one of some storage containers I have . They hold odds and ends of pictures, cards and papers

This little box I have on my beside table with lip balm and hand cream in

I am ready for a cup of hot tea and a good book. Hope all is enjoying their Thursday.

  1. Your winter scene and the cold rain outside my window make me wish for a sign of those sweet birds as well. Love that sweet white box..

  2. HI ELAINE,
BUUURRRR. THAT SNOW MAKES ME REALLY COLD. IT HAS BEEN CHILLY HERE THE LAST FEW DAYS. BUT I THINK IT IS REFRESHING. BECAUSE WHEN THE HEAT HITS US HERE IN SUNNY FLORIDA, IT IS GOING TO BE HOT FOR QUITE A FEW MONTHS. AND WE WILL BE WISHING FOR THIS CHILLY WEATHER.
LOVE THE BOX ALSO AND THE PICTURE OF THE BIRDS. WHERE DO YOU HAVE THE BIRDS IN YOUR HOUSE? I ALSO LIKE BOXES. I HAVE A FEW IN MY CLOSET AND IN THE CABINET UNDER THE PRINTER.
    LOVE KAY

  3. Hi Elaine. Brrr. At least January is almost behind us. Spring shouldn't be too much longer. Your birdies & print are so warm and alive. I love looking at happy spring items this time of year. Love those round boxes. I bought a couple at Hobby Lobby before Christmas to store old cards, etc, in, too. I haven't decided if I want to cover them in paper or fabric. I was peeking at the other things in your room. What a gorgeous sight! All those flowers and pretties. I'll be looking forward to you showing us more! Stay warm, my friend. Rosie

  4. I can see why you are longing for spring. This has been an unseasonably cold winter so far. Even here in the coastal south we have had colder temperatures than normal.

Love your little GW picture. Thanks for showing such lovely scenes from around your home.

    hugs

  6. Elaine, I was admiring some of the pictures on your sidebar and realized that the one with the three girls looked awfully familiar. I realized it was from my 'Beautiful Life' journal! LOL! I'm tickled you liked it well enough to share on your sidebar!

    Blessings,

  7. Brrr! It is cold there. We are having winds and dust today. Yuck! Zack had a baseball game this morning -- first win of the season (10-9). Hoping to just stay home the rest of the weekend although Zack might have practice tomorrow. Looks like your room is organized. Lots of pretty pictures and storage boxes. Stay warm! Love ya, Tammy

  8. What a lovely post! We don't get much snow here in San Antonio, TX so I think your photo of the snow covered tree is just beautiful! Great find on the $3.00 picture, it certainly does look like spring. Hang on and stay warm! Spring is just around the corner now.
    Blessings,
    Patricia :o)
