Hello to all our Blue Monday Friends

             Rainbows and dead grass
We have been sweltering here in the heat . Temps do not usually get this hot in June and July.. Normal for us in mid 70'or low 80's and this year we have seen 90 or more.   Those blue skies fool cool looking up there but beneath is a different story.
Here is a picture taken after a rain in June..notice the rainbow.

         The summer of 2012

IT'S SO HOT in MICHIGAN that------
.....the birds have to use potholders to pull the worms out of the ground.

.....the trees are whistling for the dogs
.....the best parking place is determined by shade instead of distance water comes from both taps. can make sun tea instantly
. learn that a seat belt buckle makes a pretty good branding iron.

.....the temperature drops below 90 F and you feel a little chilly. discover that in July it only takes two fingers to steer your car. discover that you can get sunburned through your car window. actually burn your hand opening the car door. break into a sweat the instant you step outside at 7:30 A.M
.....your biggest motorcycle wreck fear is, "What if I get knocked out
and end up lying on the pavement and cook to death"? realize that asphalt has a liquid stage.

.....the potatoes cook underground, so all you have to do is pull one
out and add butter.

.....the cows are giving evaporated milk. are feeding their chickens crushed ice to keep them from
laying boiled eggs.

IT'S SO DRY IN MICHIGAN that the Baptists are starting to baptize by

sprinkling, the Methodists are using wet-wipes, the Presbyterians are

giving rain checks, and the Catholics are praying for the wine to turn
back into water!

Below is what my lawn looks like now

Our lawns are not quite that dried up, but lots of areas are, around here. I'm thinking of doing a post, using random dried up grass shots. ,-)

Hope you are keeping the flowers watered though... We are doing that. And my little bitty back yard of grass... I watered that once. But the front yard... Hey, it's amazing how those weeds keep showing green!!! LOL.
